How to Recycle your Used ATV or Used Motorcycle
You used ATV or used motorcycle may be doomed for the junkyard, but have you stopped to think about what will happen once you drop it off? It is likely once you leave the junkyard that you will not think about it. That may not seem like a big deal to you, but you should understand that it can be harmful and you can do something about it.
What's Wrong with Junking It
When you just junk your used ATV or used motorcycle it will usually just sit there. It will pile up alongside other junk and there it will remain for years and years. This is a problem. These types of things do not break down like other trash does. That is why they go to a junk yard and not a landfill.
When you junk your used items you are just throwing them out. You could be doing something else that could actually make you money - recycle.
Recycling your Used ATV or Used Motorcycle
Recycling does not mean you have to haul it to the recycling center. There are many ways to recycle. When you recycle your used ATV or used motorcycle you can sell it for parts or, if it still runs, you can sell the whole thing.
If you are thinking about junking it then it is likely it no longer runs. Have you tried to find out why, though? You may want to have it looked at. You never know, it could be an easy fix. If you can get it fixed you may decide to keep it or sell it.
If fixing it is not an option, then you can sell the parts of the ATV or bike that are still in good condition and working order. You can completely break the bike down and sell everything from the tires to the seat. You can usually sell these or you may be able to sell them individually to a junk yard. This way instead of just dumping the ATV or motorcycle the junk yard will have the actual parts and will be more likely to sell them to customers, so they can be reused.
You should really give recycling a chance. It may seem like a hassle, but it is much better than filling up junk yard after junk yard with waste. By reusing parts it will also cut down on the manufacturing of new parts, which in turn cuts pollution and materials from being used
